What a ProctorU Session Involves
ProctorU is live proctoring — a real person watches you in real time, which changes the tactics that work:
- Live proctor — a human watches your webcam and shared screen for the whole exam
- Screen share — the proctor sees what a screen-recording tool captures on your monitor
- Remote-access pre-check — the proctor may briefly take control to check for other apps and monitors before the exam
- ID & room scan — photo ID verification and a webcam pan of your room
- Second-monitor detection — you are asked to disconnect extra displays
Why Alt-Tab and Browser Extensions Fail on ProctorU
With a human watching your screen share, opening a second tab or another app is caught immediately. The key detail: a screen share captures what the OS composits to the display. UFOlee's stealth overlay is drawn so it does not appear in the shared-screen feed the proctor sees, and click-through mode (Ctrl+Shift+D) lets you work on the exam beneath it. Ctrl+Shift+S hides it in a fraction of a second if the proctor asks you to show your screen.
